In 2002, the company won the second price in "BEST of BIOTECH”, a Business Plan competition organised by the INNOVATIONSAGENTUR, today part of the AWS the Austrian Wirtschafts Service, which led to seed financing by various Austrian business development funds and agencies. This strong support enabled the preclinical development of the lead compound FX06.

	The Wiener Wirtschafts Förderungs Fonds (WWFF), the Vienna Business Agency promotion vehicle granted FIBREX Euro 100.000 in the frame of its TRANSKOOP program.
	The Austria Wirtschafts Service (AWS) provided funds through credit and credit guarantee schemes. In total FIBREX was able to raise funds through those schemes in the amount of Euro 2.4 million.
	The Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour of Austria supported FIBREX in the frame of a project worth Euro 50.000.
	In August 2005 FIBREX was awarded grants and loans by the Austrian Forschungs-Förderungs-Gesellschaft (FFG), initially amounting to Euro 385.000. After meeting agreed upon milestones, grants and loans may reach up to Euro 1.28 million over a three year project period, the second year grant in the amount of Euro 606.000 was approved in April 2007.
